Small Crocheted Heart

This free crochet heart pattern is super easy and fun to make and works up extremely quickly. You can use different yarn weights to create hearts of varying size, but just to give you an idea of the size, all the hearts shown in this post are crocheted with cotton thread size 10 and a 2 mm crochet hook and they measure about 4,5 by 4,5 cm (1,77 by 1,77 inches). Make a lot of these cute hearts and hand them out to everyone you like.
You will also need a needle to weave in loose ends and a pair of scissors.

Instructions
Make a magic ring.

  • Round 1:Ch 1, in the ring work (2 sc, ch 5, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 tr, ch 2, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc, ch 5, sc), pull the thread end to tighten the ring, join with sl st in first sc.
  • Round 2:Ch 1, sc in same sc, skip next sc, ch 2, in next ch-5 sp work (dc, ch 1) 5 times, in each of next 2 ch-2 sp work (dc, ch 1) 2 times, dc in next tr, in each of next 2 ch-2 sp work (ch 1, dc) 2 times, in next ch-5 sp work (ch 1, dc) 5 times, ch 2, join with sl st in first sc.
  • Round 3:Ch 1, sc in sc, ch 1, sc in next ch-2 sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch-1 sp) 18 times, ch 3, sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, join with sl st in first sc.

Fasten off and weave in loose ends.
