Easy Round Lace Doily

Create a beautiful lace doily with this free crochet pattern and add a lovely lace accent to any room in your home. The pattern is so easy and quick, you will find you can crochet one in all your favorite colors in no time at all.
I created my Easy Round Lace Doily with cotton thread size 10 and a 2 mm crochet hook. It measures 20 cm (7,87 inches) in diameter. You can use different yarn weights to create doilies of various sizes.
Besides your chosen thread and crochet hook, you will also need a needle to weave in loose ends and a pair of scissors.

Instructions
Make a magic ring.

  • Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in the ring, (ch 3, 2 dc in the ring) 7 times, pull the thread end to tighten the ring, ch 1 and join with hdc in 3rd ch of first ch3 to form the last ch-3 sp of the round.
  • Round 2: Ch 6 (counts as dc and ch-3 sp), * in 2nd ch of next ch-3 sp work (dc, ch 3, dc), ch 3; repeat from * 7 times, dc in same stitch as first ch6, ch 3, join with sl st in 3rd ch of first ch6.
  • Round 3: Sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 3 (counts as dc), 3 dc in same sp, * ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3 ** , 4 dc in next ch-3 sp; repeat from * 7 times and from * to ** once more, join with sl st in 3rd ch of first ch3.
  • Round 4: Ch 1, sc in same stitch, * ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp; repeat from * around, ch 2 and join with dc in first sc to form last ch-5 sp.
  • Round 5: Ch 1, 2 sc in same sp, (ch 5, 2 sc in next ch-5 sp) around, ch 2 and join with dc in first sc to form the last sp of the round.
  • Round 6: Ch 7 (counts as dc and ch-4 sp), * in 3rd ch of next ch-5 sp work (dc, ch 3, dc), ch 4; repeat from * around, dc in same stitch as first ch7, ch 3, join with sl st in 3rd ch of first ch7.
  • Round 7: Sl st in next ch-4 sp, ch 3 (counts as dc), 3 dc in same sp, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, * 4 dc in next ch-4 sp, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3; repeat from * around, join with sl st in 3rd ch of first ch3.
  • Round 8: Ch 1, sc in same stitch, ch 6, * sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 6; repeat from * around, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 2 and join with dc in first sc to form the last ch-5 sp of the round.
  • Round 9: Ch 1, sc in same sp, (ch 6, sc in next sp) around, ch 3 and join with dc in first sc to form the last ch-6 sp of the round.
  • Round 10: Ch 1, sc in same sp, (ch 7, sc in next sp) around, ch 3 and join with tr in first sc to form the last ch-7 sp of the round.
  • Round 11: Ch 1, 2 sc in same sp, (ch 7, 2 sc in next ch-7 sp) around, ch 3 and tr in first sc to form the last ch-7 sp of the round.
  • Round 12: Ch 6 (counts as dc and ch-3 sp), dc in same stitch as ch6, * ch 4, in 4th ch of next ch-7 sp work (dc, ch 3, dc); repeat from * around, ch 2 and join with hdc in 3rd ch of first ch6 to form the last ch-4 sp of the round.
  • Round 13: Ch 1, sc in same ch-4 sp, * ch 1, in next ch-3 sp work ( dc, ch 1, dc, ch 5 and sl st in 5th ch from the hook, dc, ch 1, dc), ch 1, sc in next ch-4 sp; repeat from * around omitting the very last sc, join with sl st in first sc.

Fasten off and weave in loose ends.
