Crochet Flower Rhea

This free crochet flower pattern is very easy and quick to make. The Crochet Flower Rhea is just the right size to be used as an applique to add to pillows, hats, purses, jackets and many more. You can choose any yarn you like to crochet this flower. Just to give you an idea of the size, if you make it with cotton thread size 10 and a 2 mm crochet hook, the flower is going to measure about 5 cm (about 2 inches) in diameter.
You will also need a needle to weave in loose ends and a pair of scissors.

Instructions
Make a magic ring.

• Round 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in the ring, pull the thread end to tighten the ring and join with sl st in first sc.
• Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in same sc, (ch 6, 3 dc in next sc) 5 times, ch 6, dc in next sc, join with sl st in 3rd ch of first ch3. Continue with different color if you like.
• Round 3: * Ch 1, skip 1 dc, in ch-6 sp work (sc, hdc, 7 dc, hdc, sc), ch 1, skip 1 dc, sl st in next dc; repeat from * around.

Fasten off and weave in loose ends.

For the red flower I used the same pattern with a small change in Round 3, which made the petals pointier.
Round 3 for pointy petals: * Ch 1, skip 1 dc, in ch-6 sp work (sc, hdc, 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc, hdc, sc), ch 1, skip 1 dc, sl st in next dc; repeat from * around.
