CROCHET PATTERNSCrochet a Heart Full of Love

Crochet a Heart Full of Love

Crochet heart patterns are easy and fun to make. I love making hearts in different colors and using them as appliques on clothes and accessories. They are a popular choice at Valentine’s Day but they make perfect year-round love gifts.
You can choose any kind of yarn in any weight you like to crochet this heart. Just to give you an idea of the size, Crochet a Heart full of love is made with cotton thread size 10 and a 2 mm crochet hook and it measures about 5 by 5 cm (2 by 2 inches).
You will also need a needle to weave in loose ends and a pair of scissors.

Fasten off and weave in loose ends.

These are also made with the same heart pattern, but they look very different.

Puffy heart
To make a 3d heart, crochet two motifs. Line them up with wrong sides facing. Hold the yarn behind the work, insert the hook through corresponding chains on both pieces and work a row of sc, one sc into each pair of chains. Leave a small opening and fill until desired plumpness with preferred stuffing. Sc the remaining chains to close the opening. Fasten off and weave in loose ends. This heart makes beautiful pendants, purse or keychain charms, brooches, Christmas decorations, baby mobiles.

Multicolored heart
This delicate heart is crocheted with wire. Crocheting with wire is a little bit tricky, so If you haven’t tried it, I would suggest experimenting with something very simple at the beginning, try different gauge wire and crochet hooks.
For this heart, I used silver plated copper wire 0,20 mm and aluminum crochet hook 1,75 mm. It measures 4,5 by 4,5 cm (1,77 by 1,77 inches). I wasn’t happy with the color, so I then used alcohol inks to make it more vibrant and colorful.
