Make a magic ring.

  • Round 1:Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in the ring, * ch 3, 2 dc in the ring; repeat from * 7 times, pull the thread tail to tighten the ring as much as needed, ch 1 and join with hdc in 3rd ch of beg ch3 to create last ch-3 sp of the round. (16 dc, 8 ch-3 spaces)
  • Round 2:Ch 6 (counts as dc and ch-3 sp), dc in same sp, ch 3 * in next ch-3 sp work (dc, ch 3, dc), ch 3; repeat from * 7 times, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch6. (16 dc, 16 ch-3 spaces)
  • Round 3:Sl st in next 2 chains, ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 3, 4 dc in next ch-3 sp **, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp; repeat from * around ending last repeat at **, join with dc in first sc to create last ch-3 sp of the round. (32 dc, 8 sc, 16 ch-3 spaces)
  • Round 4:Ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp; repeat from * around (15 times), ch 1 and join with tr in first sc to create last ch-5 sp of the round. (16 ch-5 spaces, 16 sc)
  • Round 5:Ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 4 and sl st in 4th ch from the hook – picot made, sc in same sp, * ch 5, in next ch-5 sp work (sc, ch 4 and sl st in 4th ch from the hook – picot made, sc); repeat from * around (15 times), ch 2 and join with dc in first sc to create last ch-5 sp of the round. (16 ch-5 spaces, 32 sc, 16 ch-4 picots)
  • Round 6:Ch 6 (counts as dc and ch-3 sp), dc in same sp, * ch 4, in next ch-5 sp work (dc, ch 3, dc); repeat from * around (15 times), join with tr in 3rd ch of beg ch6 to create last ch-4 sp of the round. (32 dc, 16 ch-3 spaces, 16 ch-4 spaces)
  • Round 7:Ch 3 (counts as dc), 3 dc in same sp, * ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp **, ch 3, 4 dc in next ch-4 sp; repeat from * around ending last repeat at **, ch 1 and join with hdc in 3rd ch of beg ch3 to create last ch-3 sp of the round. (64 dc, 16 sc, 32 ch-3 spaces)
  • Round 8:Ch 1, sc in same sp (around hdc), ch 6, * sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 6; repeat from * around (15 times), sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 2 and join with dc in first sc to create last ch-5 sp of the round. (16 ch-5 spaces, 16 ch-6 spaces, 32 sc)
  • Round 9:Ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 6, sc in next sp; repeat from * around (31 times), ch 2 and join with tr in first sc to create last ch-6 sp of the round. (32 ch-6 spaces, 32 sc)
  • Round 10:Ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 4 and sl st in 4th ch from the hook – picot made, sc in same sp, * ch 6, in next sp work (sc, ch 4 and sl st in 4th ch from the hook – picot made, sc); repeat from around (31 times), ch 2 and join with tr in first sc to create last ch-6 sp of the round. (32 ch-6 spaces, 32 ch-4 picots, 64 sc)
  • Round 11:Ch 6 (counts as dc and ch-3 sp), dc in same sp, * ch 4, in next ch-6 sp work (dc, ch 3, dc); repeat from * around (31 times), ch 1 and join with dc in 3rd ch of beg ch6 to create last ch-4 sp of the round. (64 dc, 32 ch-3 spaces, 32 ch-4 spaces)
  • Round 12:Ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 1, in next ch-3 sp work (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 4 and sl st in 4th ch from the hook – picot made, dc, ch 1, dc), ch 1, sc in next ch-4 sp; repeat from * around omitting the very last sc, join with sl st in first sc. (128 dc, 128 ch-1 spaces, 32 sc, 32 ch-4 picots)
